2018 MAKE NINE PROJECTS!

All these years, I have been sewing like mad without following my plan. Yep, I am an organized person, but I got distracted really, really, really bad with all those new and fabulous apparel sewing patterns lol. Last year I applied as a pattern tester for various indie designers to learn more about apparel sewing. I had so much fun and got to know some designers that make beautiful and unusual/unique cutting (design) and really perfect for my style.

This year, I want to plan out my sewing journey. I want to sew clothes that I am actually going to wear instead of wasting fabrics on clothes that I won't wear. I was inspired by all those #2018makenine on Instagram and couldn't resist making my own too. And the most important is I need to follow what I had planned for 2018. Hahaha...

Here are my 2018 Make Nine, although I found more designs that I really want to try in my Japanese and Thai pattern books (facepalm!)

YASMEEN SKIRT

Oh, I love everything about Yasmeen skirt by Just Patterns. The construction, the pattern and the look! Oh, so in love! This skirt design is the reason why I want to start wearing skirts! (I am a pants person, by the way).

This inspiration caught (I think it is from Banana Republic, Pinterest) my attention and this definitely the way I am going to wear my Yasmeen skirt, what do you think? :)

TAMARACK JACKET

I need jackets in my life. I have a hooded jacket and a windbreaker. Both used to be my style back when I was in my twenties, and I am in denial all these while lol! So this year, I need to start upgrading my wardrobe, a more of thirties thingy (This year is going to be classy and simplicity)
So, this Tamarack Jacket by Grainline Studio is simple and perfect for me, maybe I need to lengthen it a bit to fully cover my bum-bum! Ha!

ALDER SHIRTDRESS

Looking at the Alder shirtdress on the Grainline Studio website, hmm...I must say, it did not please me at all! But, upon seeing the Alder shirtdress version by Melissa, I fall in love with the design. Her choice of fabric really pops up the design and it really suits her beautifully. SO, I am going to give this pattern a try, though I do not wear sleeveless outside, maybe I can pair it with my jacket(s) and legging.

RUMANA COAT

Oh, I hope I did not go overboard with planning two outerwear this year, but when I enter the SewMyStyle2018, I just cannot resist it when I see this blue linen version of Rumana Coat, By Hand London, I think linen is perfect for Malaysia weather which is hot and humid, this is definitely going to replace my hooded sweater.

LANDER PANTS

I am always curious about how to sew the pants with zipper or button fly. So, the Lander pants by True Bias is a perfect pattern to learn how to do it, besides, it got so many positive reviews from all the sewists, and that is a bonus point before considered buying the pattern.

FRINGE BLOUSE

Fringe dresses, design by Chalk and Notch keep on appearing on my Instagram feed and I can't just ignore all those beautiful versions. If I shorten it a bit, I can wear it with my jeans and culottes and with the original length, I can wear it with legging! What do you think?

ARIELLE & AXEL SKIRT

Lately, I feel the need to wear something sexy (is this the in denial of getting old syndrome?) lol.
I gained weight and after a car accident end of last year, and until the time I am writing this post, I have been resting from my yoga routine due to the pain on my right rib. It is getting better now, I hope. To successfully wear these skirts, I really need to lose some weight especially on my tummy and thigh, and calf...ugh...!

Okay, back to the skirts. I really love the Arielle skirt by Tilly Buttons. I need to lengthen it to the center calf length (is that a maxi length??) and do you think it is possible to lengthen it to a maxi length with this style?

Next is the Axel skirt by Megan Nielsen Patterns. Look so sexy don't you think? Aha...
I need this at home, I kinda want to wear it at home with my sleeveless top and my Stella top.

INSPIRATIONAL STAND COLLAR SHIRT DRESSES

Last but not least, are these elegant stand collar shirt dresses. I am so in love with the style although I have no idea where and how am I going to wear these lol. These are pictures that I saved from Pinterest and Instagram. Do you know which patterns that have a similar design or any pattern that I can hack into this design? I did browse patterns at Burdastyle.com, but I just couldn't find anything near to these designs.

Wow, this is my longest post ever! Until next post, hope you enjoy reading my posts, although I know my English is not that good, I do hope you can understand my struggle hahaha...!
Take care my friends and stay safe!

Love,
Liza
